Is Trump a Pathological Liar?
Americans who follow politics have long known about Donald J. Trump's proclivity to spout lies. A pathological liar not only lies frequently, but may feel a compulsion to do so. They can't stop lying even when it causes psychological distress, puts them in danger, and creates problems with relationships, work, or other aspects of daily life. Furthermore, pathological lying tens to start early - in adolescence and young adulthood. The word pathological indicates that there is an underlying pathology, or illness. Hence, pathological liar signs are associated with various underlying mental health conditions.
When a man who is nominated by his Party and can stand behind a podium for ninety minutes while the nation watches on television and tells dozens of lies, to me he is either a pathological liar or he has the most criminal mind in the country. The lies are not small white lies. Many of them are of vast importance to our country and national security. Is he aware that people are fact-checking him? Does he care that he is fooling no one? If he gets elected, will the lies become justified in his mind?
Perhaps the most important question is this: Can America ever truly trust a United States President who is a psychological liar?
The answer is clear to me that he can never be trusted!
