The American Civil War

"A Rich Man's War and a Poor Man's Fight"

During the American Civil War, rich people could pay money or substitute others to avoid fighting in the war, leaving poor people to fight the battles. Thus, it was forever identified as a "rich man's war and a poor man's fight."

According to David Nasaw, a history professor at the City University of New York, after having received his draft notice to report for military service during the Civil War, Andrew Carnegie, the billionaire rail and steel magnate, paid an Irish immigrant $850 to fight in his place.

This tidbit of information is proudly brought to you by the Democrat National Committee. You many want to start saving up now. In 1861, $850.00 money will set you back about $32.163.59 at a 2.24% inflation rate. That's for any Andrew Carnegies out there who were wondering.

"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter (the battlefield of another civil war.) Apologies to Matthew for the paraphrasing.                                                                    Matthew 19:24 and John Watson 7/14/2024

If anyone questions why my opinions about Donald Trump are a little one-sided, I would tell them I firmly believe many actions the former president has taken - and still is taking - will lead us all down the path of destruction. I am absolutely convinced that he is preparing - and quite possible hoping - that America is scheduled for another Civil War.

It doesn't take 20-20 vision to see how he is salivating over the chance to take our nation into uncharted autocracy, and what would be easier than doing it after a civil war when men are dazed and confused about their futures.  It does not have to be a bloody action like before. Psychological warfare would play a huge part and Trump would do what he has done best: Divide, conquer, and control.

And then there are those huge flocks of "flying monkeys, too!"
