The assault on our democracy and rule of law began, of course, when six far-right MAGA Republicans were slipped under the door by far-right Republican Presidents who were voted-in by far-right Republicans on the Senate Judicial Committee. 

That should have all been a given, but their sinister plans to convert our highest court into a wicked hatched job on our laws surprised many experts. Their unexpected action, thus far, was to weaponize the President with outlandish immunities that will make him about as close to being a dictator as Russia's Putin. (A large part of America will tell you that was the designed plan!)

Action must be urgently taken to correct this terrible move. We are not a monarchy - yet - and one positive step to get our high court back in line is to extend the members from nine to something greater that would offset the present irrational, MAGA-minded majority. 

Unimaginable changes could yet happen if it isn't fixed. The abortion laws could blow-up into a national "no abortions, no exceptions" law. Other MAGA cult ideas are also outlined in the "Project 2025" plans.

We need better vetting of Justices and we need term limits and/or age limits on them. This body was considered to hold the best legal minds in the country, but are now proving themselves to be as political as our congress  -  only with the ability to be the final "last word on the matter!" 

America, we're dangerously close to letting our democracy slip-sliding away!

A Day for a little Levity. . .

Confession of a   Social Climber Before I cash in my chips and curl up my toes, I need to confess to a terrible crime. For more than 86 years I have been a terrible liar about an important moment in of my life. As everyone who knows me is aware, I have always said my home town was Fort Benton. But, I hope everyone will find a way to forgive me for that terrible fib. I admit I was a social climber from birth. I wanted the world to know I was from a large city. When I was born, my parents and and older brother lived in the beautiful town of Virgelle, Montana.
